Pacific Quest provides licensed and accredited residential mental healthcare on Hawaii Island integrating evidence based clinical modalities, psychiatry, nature based interventions, and whole person wellness. We serve Adolescents (13-17) and Young Adults (18-24).
The Overnight LPN is responsible for maintaining medical oversight and ensuring the safety and well-being of adolescent and young adult residents during overnight hours. This role includes medication preparation and monitoring, behavioral observation, emergency response, facility readiness, and collaboration with daytime staff to ensure continuity of care. The Overnight LPN plays a critical part in upholding Pacific Quest’s high standards of integrative medical care in a structured residential treatment environment.
Resident Safety & Supervision
- Accountabilities:
- Ensure resident well-being during overnight hours
- Maintain vigilance in monitoring and observation
- Key Responsibilities:
- Perform 15-minute bed checks throughout the shift
- Support resident safety through alertness and presence
- Monitor for behavioral issues and escalate as needed
- Assist with hygiene and bedtime routines for late-night arrivals
Medical Monitoring & Care
- Accountabilities:
- Deliver medical support within LPN scope
- Support medication safety and administration
- Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assist with medication for resident self-administration
- Respond to medical concerns overnight
- Provide basic medical interventions within license limitations
- Participate in emergency or behavioral de-escalation situations
Documentation & Communication
- Accountabilities:
- Maintain accurate records
- Ensure clear shift-to-shift communication
- Support overnight operations and site cleanliness
- Ensure a safe and functioning environment
- Key Responsibilities:
- Complete overnight incident and safety reports
- Record observations and care in accordance with standards
- Communicate effectively with daytime staff for continuity of care
Professionalism & Compliance
- Accountabilities:
- Meet required certifications and standards
- Uphold Pacific Quest policies and maintain alignment with Core Values: Professionalism, Health, Connection and Resilience
- Ensure company training requirements are kept current
Competencies
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Experience in residential or youth settings (preferred)
- Ensure all documentation, verbal communication, and electronic records are handled with discretion and in accordance with HIPAA, federal, and state privacy laws
- Physically and mentally able to remain alert through shifts
Skills & Qualifications
- Maintain active LPN license in the State of Hawaii
- Current CPR/First Aid certification required from a classroom training
- Maintain CPI certification (provided by PQ)
- Attend required trainings and staff meetings
- Pass all background, drug, and health clearances
- 21+ years of age to meet Company auto insurance requirements
- Maintain valid driver’s license with clean driving record; annual driving clearance required
- Pre-employment physical and TB clearance required; annual clearances thereafter
- Computer skills, including proficiency in EMR systems
- Must pass thorough background checks and drug screen
Work Schedule
- Full-time: 3 overnight shifts (11 hrs each) + 1 short shift (7 hours) per week
- Weekend and holiday availability required
- Flexibility for mandatory overtime and coverage as needed
Physical Demands

- Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, frequent sitting, standing and walking, may be required for long periods of time and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain
- Additional physical requirements may include some lifting and or moving up to 25 pounds
– Salary range $22-$32 per hour; starting wage dependent on qualifications and experience
