Janna earned her Master of Science in Special Education through the New York City Teaching Fellows Program at Pace University, as well as her MA in English from Texas Christian University. Before coming to Pacific Quest, Janna taught English at a high school for students with severe emotional issues in the Bronx. She also taught at a high school for students with moderate to profound disabilities, including students with intellectual disabilities and autism. Janna also taught high school students at a psychiatric hospital in Seattle.
In addition, Janna has five years of experience teaching writing and training writing tutors at the college and community college levels. She also has experience teaching GED and working as an editor for a textbook publisher in New York City.
As the Academic Coordinator at Pacific Quest, Janna’s goal is to teach students and staff how to integrate the curriculum into their daily practices so that the lessons become a way of life.
Janna is passionate about creativity, collaboration, and choice in education. She is dedicated to providing individualized services that meet the learning needs of each student in the program.
